Hi all.
I am looking to purchase a BTL and on the home report nothing was commented on about asbestos. Property was in excellent condition. Am I going down a rabbit hole or is it something to genuinely consider. My friend said as long as it’s not disturbed you shouldn’t have an issue. Majority of the housing stock has asbestos in it. At what point would I need to take action and how common is it to rip up all the walls etc and remove asbestos?

Perhaps providing a few more details would help. Where is the property, how old is it? Why do you think it contains asbestos?
If you are unsure you could always request/instruct an asbestos before putting an offer in.
There is no requirement to have asbestos removed but if you are aware it's there then a management plan is a good idea.
Top floor flat in Scotland 1967 build. Nothing has been said about asbestos but I’m quite paranoid so I like to make sure it’s nothing to be concerned about. They said something about textured walls but put it down as a 1 which means no repairs. You saying there is no requirement I should let it Bev
