Hi everyone, last year, I had a situation with a tenant who left my property in November after I won a court case against them. At the time they vacated, they owed £11,000 in unpaid rent.

For several months, I tried to locate their new address without any success. However, last month, I finally found out where they’re currently living. I sent a formal letter to their new address, stating the outstanding amount and giving them 14 days to respond or begin repayment. Unfortunately, I haven’t received any response so far.

Now I’m at a crossroads:
Should I go back to my solicitor and start legal proceedings again to enforce the previous judgment? Or would it be better to hire a debt recovery agency to pursue the debt on my behalf?

I’d really appreciate any advice on the best course of action. Has anyone gone through something similar? What are the realistic chances of recovering the money at this point?
