My rental contract is due to expire at the start of October, but I am in the process of buying a house and was hoping we could come to an arrangement to end the rental contract a couple of months early. The rental market is very hot here, so I’m sure she would find someone as soon as it’s listed.
I messaged my landlord on Tuesday asking if it could be possible, but no response so far. Usually she replies within a couple of hours, so unless something has come up in her personal life I’m assuming she was annoyed with my message. When do you think it would be appropriate to send a follow up message? I’d like to know either way so I can plan my finances accordingly for the next few months.
A follow up is a good idea. No harm in it, I think you are overthinking it.
But check your contract, most of them have a 2 month notice period, so you can put in your notice now for 2 months ahead and it be fine.
