What should I do? I don’t want to piss the landlord off but I hold up my end of the agreement, yet it takes a long time to get anything looked at.
I suppose my question is how long is a reasonable time to get this fixed and should I just keep chasing it?
If it's part of the inventory then of course keep chasing it. I assume the Landlord fully manages the property so all you can do is keep on at them to fix/replace it.
As to how long is reasonable everyone will say something different. When my tenant told the lettings agent that the old dishwasher was broken the lettings agent was trying to get a plumber round to fix it in the next couple of weeks. It was old and would have been a waste of money trying to fix it so I put a new one in a couple of days after it was reported.
Thanks for your reply, it is in the inventory so I will keep chasing, I don’t want to be annoying the landlord because we’re all busy - but it does need addressing.
Everyone's busy but at the end of the day you are paying him for a service, which is not being met in a reasonable manner (imo)
Fairy Liquid.
Offer to get it fixed, if they will pay for the repairs maybe set a max price of £200, or if older than 10 years old. Offer to replace if they will pay for it. But this is one reason I only rented fully unfurnished, or gift the tenant anything that was built in.
Have you tried getting her flowers?
If its been 2 weeks I don't see any issue with following up to see what's happening.
They could be struggling to get someone to commit to coming out to look at it. I know there were times of the year the landlords I worked for had those issues.
Schools will be finishing for the summer so we are coming into one of those times now.
Use the sink?
Was my question “the dishwasher is broken and I have no way of washing up”?
No it wasn’t, goodbye.
I gave you a solution to not having a dishwasher
