Don't hire cleaners before new tenancy, pay new tenants instead

You know when tenants move out, clean the flat to their meh standards, you hire cleaners that do fk all for 4 hours, and new tenants complain that you didn't deliver a flat cleaned to their standards, and doubt you actually hired somebody?

Avoid all this BS and offer tenants £50-100 cash/voucher/off rent to clean the place themselves up to their standards, you happy, tenants happy, cleaners can suck their elbows.

EDIT

Dear tenants reading the comments, that's why most of your landlords are actually retarded

I think the place should be clean before someone moves in , but what do I know

it happens you hire cleaners and tenants still moan it's dirty, and you just have to agree cause it is actually. you guys misunderstood my post, I'm saying don't waste money on cleaners cause it only creates bad relationship with tenants. give tenants money to do what they want, clean the flat themselves or hire a cleaner. but what do I know, I don't speak your language

If you hire cleaners and it’s still dirty,… what was the point in hiring them? I don’t know,.. maybe, get the cleaners to actually clean?

should I ask them in advance, are you gonna clean or take the piss? is this how it works?

I don't have tiktok but you seem to know a lot about these... my passive income covers all my expenses, good luck with yours.

We know you're trying to save money any way you can, including skimping on your obvious responsibilities. So tell us, you're either not doing well, or you were raised poorly and without common empathy. Which one was it?

no empathy. how could I be a landlord otherwise. but I'm not trying to save money, to make money you need to spend money. society is fked, all about saving, saving saving saving, go earn money

I think judging by your comments in this post, you're a landlord to make money, and that's it. So let's not try to insult anyone by suggesting you're doing it out of the kindness of your heart.

Do you usually resort to insults in discussions with strangers?

This is a horrible idea.

Firstly it incentivises the old tenant to leave the place a tip when leaving - because it was like that when it moved in.

Secondly the tenant will rightly claim the place was a dump when they moved in so no chance in getting back any deposit for it being a tip.

Just ensure the place is properly clean when people move in to remind them you expect it to be clean. it’s about respect imo

you all dealing with animals I see? do your own diligence before getting somebody into your property and you won't have to deal with this bs

Just because I don’t agree with your dumb idea there’s no need to challenge my judgement or my tenants. I’ve been a landlord for 20 years so I’m pretty sure I’ve worked out what works and what doesn’t.

Maybe "do your own dilligence" on the cleaning company you hire?

Exactly. Dumb ass believes tenants should be dealing with the professional clean of a property because actual professionals can’t do it right lol

If you treat tenants with respect then they'll treat you with the same. No need for cash incentives

I give tenants the option to clean the place themselves or hire a cleaner as I would do. what fking incentives are you talking about?

Hire professional cleaners who provide a receipt and leave the place spotless. Treat tenants with respect.

Cleaning someone else's grime when you're knackered from moving is hideous.

"Hire professional cleaners who provide a receipt and leave the place spotless." that's the lazy cleaners I'm talking about. owning your cleaning business doesn't mean you actually do a professional job

Is it possible that you’ve just hired the cheapest you could find, so they did a job equivalent to the pay? Also, do you not check your flat/house once the cleaning is done? You should be able to see for yourself if the job was done to the standards you’ve paid for?

not possible

What’s not possible? Checking the job before the cleaners leave?

an end of tenancy clean cost about £250. Add the oven, Windows outside and any carpet cleaning separately.

You are the problem here.

Interesting, this is less about cleaning you're simply paying £50 to end complaints.
