Anyone have any good recommendations? Or any horror stories of companies to stay away from? I'm in the North West and looking for comprehensive cover (including rent arrears cover). New to this so any recommendations would be great
Directline are pretty decent.
Thanks!
AXA quoted me £400 whereas directline were £700 odd. Worth trying both
Thanks, Yes I did get a quote from DL and it was substantially higher than most others, not sure why...?
Avoid DAS law/DAS legal. I believe Simply business use them so just check who's the provider.
DAS are pretty awful and wriggle out of anything, they're also 'no win no fee' so have no idea why you pay for that service (that spoilers, you don't get)
Thanks!
DAS is now / taken over by ARAG. They provide cover on behalf of Direct Line and I think Goodlord.
To offer a counter view we have found them to be ok. They will do “what it says on the tin” (and not beyond) but you need to have all your paperwork straight and stick to the terms of the policy / notification terms etc.
For this reason I always recommend that landlords do not deviate from the prescribed requirements of the policy. If the tenant reference does not come back a full pass (without exceptions) and you are either super competent / use a good agent, then do not proceed.
Cheers.
