Landlord insurance for building with single ply flat roof and rent protection

I have had our renewal through for our landlord insurance which has rent protection as part of it, and it’s gone up a whopping 33% from last year without any change from last year, which seems ridiculous especially as there are no changes in the terms of the policy and we have had no claims.

I have done a few online quotes and a stumbling block for the market seems to be that’s it’s a 100% flat roof constructed with single ply which is non-standard.

Has anyone found an insurer that includes rent protection as part of the policy, that is geared to allow a 100% single ply flat roof?

I actually have found out that our current insurer has it listed as a felt on timber flat roof, even thought it was specifically stated as single ply.

I cant help you on the greater question, except a nod to Alan Boswell for a quote

However, so you know - you can get stand-alone Rental Guarantee Insurance (RGI), it doesnt have to be part of your buildings insurance and rarely is.
