Agent (Peter Alan) and Mrs. Landlord want immediate payment for repairs, but Mr. Landlord is fine with leaving it until the end of the tenancy? They need to decide what they want.
To be clear, as standard practice, the MR is in the wrong, and the landlord should aim to collect payment from you now. It is stupid for them to "spend" the deposit on this; "once it's gone, it's gone". Plus the longer the tenancy is, the less the deposit scheme will be willing to "deduct" from the deposit for the repairs. Its a bad idea for them.
You might want to consider whether this will affect the relationship. It may be best to cover the damage caused by your Air fryer and resolve this issue. You could also propose a payment plan.
"£300 is a lot. If we can manage £100 a month, then I'm fine with paying it now instead of taking it out of the deposit, as Mr. Landlord previously agreed."
