My home insurance has gone up from £330 to £530

Is this a normal jump or do u think i could find cheaper? Only had my house a year and seems like such a huge jump in price. Its a one bed flat in edinburgh. Anyone having the same experience?

Premiums go up - by how much is anyone’s guess. But either way you need to shop around

What’s your insurance provider reason for this increase? Talk to them perhaps

Weirdly, mine came down this year (renewed a week ago) from 238 to 215.

There is no loyalty discount with insurance companies. This year I ended up renewing my insurance with the same insurer and saved a small fortune, not by taking their offer but starting again with a new application.

Mine went down from £550 to £300

Could have selected the cheapest offer of £210 but decided to go for a premium solution that included emergency cover for electrical and plumbing solar to Home serve at £30/month

I used Uswitch, four bed end of terrace in Surrey
