Landlord insurance

Direct line are quoting me 20% more than last year. I know there are comparison websites that can be used but ‘word of mouth’ is a lost art. So my question is - Is there an insurance provider you would recommend on service and/or cost?

Try AXA. I’ve used them for many years to cover multiple properties. I’ve always found them to be cheaper than Direct Line with minimal annual increases. Hope this helps.

Thanks. Do you mind me asking a rough figure they charge?

The price will largely depend on a number of factors including area, risks in the area e.g flooding, age and type of property, number of bathrooms, build e.g brick and tile etc. I’m not sure my price will be relevant to your property/properties.

I recommend running a quote on their website, and if it’s too high or the cover doesn’t match your requirements, try someone else 👍🏻

Forget comparison sites.

Go through insurance brokers

Just ring them and knock them down. Or go online in your accounts and do a new quote. It will be cheaper and then cancel your renewal.
