Tenancy rights

My landlord gave me a tenancy agreement and got me to put the bills to the property and registration with UC to claim government eco installation grant He now after 6 months of letting me believe I was moving in the property has decided to give tej property to someone else

Why would you have a tenancy agreement 6months prior to your agreed move in, seems very fishy.

If he has used your documents as a claim for green energy grants I would say this could both be an act of fraud as you were never a tenant and also potentially a breach of gdpr because he has used your data meaning he has kept your data longer than required as he should have deleted it knowing they didn't want to give you the tenancy. There may be some other breaches here. I was going to say possibly non consent use of data but they mentioned what they wanted to use it for. Anyway check if they have registered via the ICO and report them (it comes with a penalty of up to £4000) and this can lead to further legal complications and investigations.

You signed a lease 6 months before moving in? Your landlord told you he was going to use the details to claim a new grant and you’ve just been waiting 6 months for a place to live?

I mean it seems like a really odd story but I guess you just missed out the stuff that’s not relevant to it. If it is as you say, I would assume it’s some sort of fraud?
