Landlord advice to prospective tenants

So I'm moving to a big city where rental properties are extremely competitive. I'm from an area of the country where housing isn't a problem, so this is very new to me and I would like some advice from a landlord's perspective so I can give myself the best chance at obtaining the properties I'll be viewing. I've scheduled 2 viewings, which are through an agency and I'm informed they will be mass viewings with many people attending in quick succession, followed by an application process.

Are there any tips you can give me that you would look for? I presume I won't be meeting the landlord but rather the letting agent on their behalf, so what would make my application "stand out"? Is there any information I should/shouldn't share?
