In a friend's case, they only realised there was weed operation (well, the leftover. No weed was found) when THEY TRY TO CHANGE SMART METERS and was rejected! Because they didn't recognise it was weed lab leftover.
The saga went that the energy company later believed the friend didn't steal any energy. Then the friend called police. A constable visited and said only if any plants were found then called police again. Otherwise, the friend was given a police incident record and allowed to clear the loft themselves.
No weed was found, but there were lots of rubbish churned out from their loft!
Get the electrics checked, they usually bypass the meter.
Great stuff. Saved someone a job.

Definitely. The insulation is one thing, but that extension high up is blatantly where the lamps were plugged in.
Yerppp now check all electrics and ring the police.
The picture quality is not best so cant see any other tell-tale signs, such as extractor, or the tinfoil extractor pipe stuff, holes where lights would be mounted, etc..
However that mylar stuff is often used in grows, so id be rather confident it was.

Not very nice tennants to not put a floor in for the landlord. That would have been nice of them to do a full loft conversion for their business and then leave. Wonder how they walked about in there?
To get rid of the weed smell if it wont go with normal means try and buy or hire a industrial ozone generator. (don't be in when it's on though)
Thank you all for your comments and help! Reported to the police, changed the locks, having the electrics checked, clearing the loft (once the police are done) and having a specialist clean done 👍.
Curious but what happened to the previous tenant? Did he scarper when you confronted him or was he already gone?
Y? And ES! TOGETHER YOU GET YES If the gov legallised or allowed more to get medical cannabis it wouldn't be an issue.
