Experiences with Hello Neighbour Letting Agency in London?

Hey guys,

I'm considering using Hello Neighbour to rent out my flat in the Herne Hill/Tulse Hill area, and I'm looking for some honest feedback from people who've used their services.

They seem to offer competitive rates (£1,200 for letting and £80/month for management), but I'd love to hear about real experiences:

  • If you're a landlord:

    • How was their tenant-finding process?
    • Were there any hidden fees?
    • How responsive are they to issues?
    • How do they handle property maintenance?
  • If you're a tenant:

    • How was your experience renting through them?
    • Were they professional and responsive?
    • Any issues with property management?
  • For anyone:

    • How do they compare to traditional high street agents?
    • Any pros or cons I should be aware of?
  • I'm a first-time landlord, so any insights would be really appreciated. Thanks in advance!

£1200 for a tenant-find service. Outrageously expensive. I paid half of that for a high street agent and they did a superb job.

Thanks for the reply! Was this in London? Everywhere I seem to look say that letting is about 6% of annual rent. I'm hopefully going to get £1700/m renting it - so £1200 is 6% of this. Do you mind letting me know the name of the high street agent? This is all very new to me

It wasn't in London. But I would shop around and get local agents to price up and compare. £1200 seems really steep. My agent is only based in Yorkshire.
